Catcher Digital Marketing and Flowfinity Deliver Measurable Business Growth for Consumer Brands

Flowfinity | January 21, 2022

Flowfinity Wireless Inc. today published a case study outlining how Catcher Digital Marketing has leveraged Flowfinity's no-code platform to deliver significant value to the consumer-packaged goods sector by digitizing and automating retail audit and market research reporting.

Catcher Digital Marketing constructs sophisticated online marketing strategies delivered using tactics that produce effective, measurable business growth for their clients in consumer packaged goods and food and beverage marketing.

Consumer packaged goods firms need to adapt strategy and tactics quickly to stay ahead in a highly competitive and fast-changing environment. The key is to have fresh, reliable market data on an ongoing basis and intuitive reporting to make informed decisions.

Catcher creates value by providing the right digital tools to provide timely research, with Flowfinity they have achieved lasting customer loyalty and profitable growth by being highly responsive to ad-hoc marketing program changes.

We survey retail staff about their brand awareness and product knowledge across our client's product lines and also perform observations of customer interactions in-store. Our clients need to see and understand trends from that market data quickly to adjust survey criteria and programs accordingly, sometimes on a daily basis."

Paul Allison, Director of Digital Marketing at Catcher

With hundreds of Brand ambassadors in the field performing thousands of in store visits every month apps built in Flowfinity help Catcher reduce labour costs by taking the guess work out of nuanced data collection, taking interpretation out of the hands of frontline personnel and into automated reporting applications.

Catcher has found that due to the flexibility of the Flowfinity toolset they have everything they need within one platform to build custom solutions for their clients and gain a significant advantage over competing firms with less advanced digital systems.

Now Catcher has integrated Flowfinity applications in the field to handle the three pillars of their retail audit programs: Brand Ambassador Management (Staffing), Field Dispatch (Work Orders) and Data Collection (Surveys and Reports).

"It's great for reporting but also so much more. We're managing users, dispatching work orders, collecting and manipulating rich data, creating dashboard visualizations, and doing all this on the fly," says Paul.

The time saved managing staff, assignments, and reporting plus the ability to respond to program change requests instantly has been a game-changer for Catcher. They now leverage their experience with Flowfinity's automation tools to drive repeatable high value business from their clients and seek new relationships based on their advantage.

Delta, IBM and Other Industry Leaders Commit to Address AdTech Bias

IBM | June 27, 2022

Leading corporations want to increase the fairness of marketing campaigns. The initiative, which was announced at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2022, brought together agencies, brands, and other thought leaders to raise awareness and take action to reduce bias in advertising technology. IBM, Delta Air Lines, WPP, Mindshare, 4A's, IAB, and the Ad Council are among the organizations that have committed. The action is IBM's most recent effort to raise awareness and educate the public about the impact of bias in advertising technology. The company launched a research initiative in 2021 to investigate the hypothesis that bias can exist in ad technology, which preliminary findings confirmed. The study also found that using AI tools and resources in marketing processes could help to reduce bias in ad technology. More industry participation and data collection are needed to better understand the potential impact of bias on these campaigns, but several industry leaders are demonstrating early activism through IBM's Advertising Fairness Pledge by raising awareness and taking action. “While the risk of bias in advertising is well known, by making this commitment, these organizations are among the first in the industry to take action,” said Bob Lord, IBM Senior Vice President of The Weather Company and Alliances. “While the risk of bias in advertising is well known, by making this commitment, these organizations are among the first in the industry to take action,” said Bob Lord, IBM Senior Vice President of The Weather Company and Alliances. “Together, we are agreeing to educate ourselves and our companies and ask other industry leaders to join us in helping to mitigate bias in advertising.” IBM also announced the free release of its Advertising Toolkit for AI Fairness 360, an open-source solution that employs 75 fairness metrics and 13 cutting-edge algorithms to help identify and mitigate biases in discrete data sets. A playbook and sample code are also provided for convenience. Organizations that use the toolkit may gain a better understanding of the presence and impact of bias in their advertising campaigns, as well as the demographics of their target audiences. “Used correctly, data can help brands personalize consumer engagement and identify the most relevant touchpoints. However, we know that bias can exist in algorithms or technology, and that’s why we’re helping our clients to evaluate how and when to use data in a meaningful way that will benefit the customer experience,” said Mark Read, CEO of WPP. “Through WPP’s GroupM, we’ve developed the Data Ethics Compass to help clients navigate the challenges of using datasets, while IBM’s new Advertising Toolkit for AI Fairness 360 will help us to better understand the potential impact of bias. Consumers rightly expect brands to use their information in a fair way and for the industry to tackle data bias collectively, which can ultimately result in increased engagement and commercial outcomes.” “As technology and data prevalence accelerates, the risk for bias in advertising compounds. It is our duty to address this head-on,” said Adam Gerhart, Global CEO of Mindshare. “We believe the industry needs to take clear and intentional action, which is why we are committing to leverage the Advertising Toolkit for AI Fairness 360.” “As a global brand, we know that every decision we make, whether it’s about a supplier, an employee or an ad campaign, is a reflection of our values and the change we want to see in the world,” said Emmakate Young, Delta’s Managing Director of Brand Marketing. “We’ve long been focused on inclusive representation in our campaign creative, this effort allows us to go a step further to bring more inclusive representation to our campaign delivery.”

Dynata Expands Partnership with Google, Becoming Cross-Media Brand-Lift Measurement Partner for YouTube

Dynata | August 01, 2022

Dynata, the world's largest first-party data platform for insights, activation and measurement, today expanded its partnership with Google as a third-party brand-lift measurement provider approved to include YouTube as part of a cross-media study. Brands and agencies now can leverage Dynata's advertising solutions to measure advertising effectiveness, optimize media spend and improve marketing ROI on YouTube by analyzing the performance of their YouTube ads compared to TV, print or any other digital, social or offline media channels under measurement. Media fragmentation has made it more challenging than ever to accurately measure advertising impact across all publishers and channels. Dynata now enables any company to better understand how a campaign is influencing consumers at all levels of the purchase funnel, holistically, across all channels. In 2020, Dynata was approved to measure YouTube lift as part of a digital ad campaign using Google's Ads Data Hub. Dynata's cross-media studies — which include non-digital media channels, such as TV, radio, print and out-of-home — measure the media performance of panelists' exposure to digital ads alongside other ad types across multiple channels. For the first time, YouTube now can be included as a media channel in such studies. "Adding a premier channel, such as YouTube, into our cross-media advertising lift offerings further enhances our ability to help clients accurately and comprehensively measure advertising performance," said Dynata CEO Gary S. Laben.
