Infographics are awesome. Why? A couple of reasons. Some people love them and some people hate them. While it’s fun to debate, it’s hard to argue that a well executed infographic isn’t more enjoyable as a learning tool compared to dull monotonous copy. They can also do wonders for your marketing. The thing is, many marketers don’t know how to get the best out of infographics and reap the benefits available. The primary benefits being the generation of inbound links and making your posts incredibly sharable.

Reddit Launches First Ever National TV Campaign ‘Find Your People’

Reddit | June 28, 2022

In its first-ever U.S TV campaign, Reddit highlights the concept of finding and connecting with people with niche interests. The TV ad, directed by Pete Marquis, shows people sharing ideas that draw blank stares or unhelpful responses from those around them. A man muses over a shower thought to his partner, who simply walks away; a woman worries about her dying plant, so her roomie coldly suggests she “get a new one”; a cosplayer gets called a “role player” by his significant other. Copy on the ad offers reprieve through Reddit threads: “r/ShowerThoughts,” “r/PlantClinic” and “r/Cosplay.” The spot ends with the cosplayer finding community in r/Cosplay. “My people get me,” he murmurs. “Reddit is a place where you can find communities of people deeply passionate about just about anything—from stocks to socks, there is a community to get involved in and be a part of, For this campaign we talked a lot about how sometimes the people closest to us do not always ‘get’ us, but Reddit is a place where you can truly ‘find your people’—a place to express our passions, share our insecurities, learn from each other or just connect about what we’re into.”-Bryan Gregg, R/GA VP-executive creative directorReddit As real-life moments continue to highlight our shared need for understanding and belonging, ‘Find your people’ showcases Reddit’s communities as spaces for everyone to connect and gain honest perspectives from real people with similar interests,Reddit CMO Roxy Young. The campaign made a soft debut at the year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, where “Find your people” appeared on out-of-home ads greeting festival-goers. The campaign will run through the fall over TV, OTT, digital video, paid social, and OOH placements in the U.S and Canada.

Ted Sarandos Talks Netflix’s Potential Ad Partners and More at Cannes

Netflix | June 24, 2022

Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos was honored as the Cannes Lions 2022 Entertainment Person of the Year award. He took the main stage on June 23 in Netflix’s festival debut. He talked about questions about Netflix’s stock decline and more-is-more content approach while carefully sidestepping ad deal rumors and platform competitors. Sarandos brushed off the specifics on any rumored ad deals and said that Netflix was talking to all potential ad partners. However, he did add that an ideal ad partner had to make it easy for Netflix to enter the ad market. He talked about how Netflix’s initial ad integration is not what he envisaged for the company and that the platform would look at ad operations internally to give it more control. Ultimately, Netflix wants to offer creative ad products ‘better than TV’. He referenced his past life in merchandising for the physical media company West Coast Video, specifically the original release for Top Gun. “If you really love ‘Star Wars’ and Marvel, Disney’s probably the service for you. Our key is, can we have the engagement with consumers such that they will complement it with other subscriptions" -Ted Sarandos co-CEO Netflix Besides the ad deals, Sarandos talked about content and how Netflix looks at it. According to him, Netflix’s advantage is in not just providing content for one person but every subscriber. “If you really love ‘Star Wars’ and Marvel, Disney’s probably the service for you. Our key is, can we have the engagement with consumers such that they will complement it with other subscriptions,,” he said. “People's tastes are so diverse,” he said. “So, every time people say, ‘That's a lot of content,’ I say, ‘It's not all for you.’ And we’re really trying to make your favorite show, my favorite show—they probably don't line up. We do well at that, and then the UI is used to kind of personalize so I find my favorite show. That scales infinitely.” He dispelled the rumor that Netflix was trying to buy out Roku to cover device integration and data capabilities. He stated that Netflix is already ubiquitously distributed on internet-enabled devices and that “we would be better off getting Netflix embedded in every device than we will be competing in the device world.” He discussed Netflix’s support for Dave Chappelle. “We're programming to people with a real variety of tastes and sensibilities and how they were brought up and what they think is offensive, or what they think is damaging to themselves, or their children,” he said. “So the variety of how you can plan the same thing for everybody—it's an impossible feat.” Sarandos said that Netflix’s queer content receives the same support. “I do think supporting expression is really important,” Sarandos said. “I think it's almost impossible for me to censor Dave in the U.S. and then I've got people from all over the world who are super offended by our LGBTQ+ content—they want to take it down and they think it's super harmful; they think it's destroying their society—And not only do we fight for it, we fight it all the way to the Supreme Court and have never take it down anywhere in the world.”

Dynata Expands Partnership with Google, Becoming Cross-Media Brand-Lift Measurement Partner for YouTube

Dynata | August 01, 2022

Dynata, the world's largest first-party data platform for insights, activation and measurement, today expanded its partnership with Google as a third-party brand-lift measurement provider approved to include YouTube as part of a cross-media study. Brands and agencies now can leverage Dynata's advertising solutions to measure advertising effectiveness, optimize media spend and improve marketing ROI on YouTube by analyzing the performance of their YouTube ads compared to TV, print or any other digital, social or offline media channels under measurement. Media fragmentation has made it more challenging than ever to accurately measure advertising impact across all publishers and channels. Dynata now enables any company to better understand how a campaign is influencing consumers at all levels of the purchase funnel, holistically, across all channels. In 2020, Dynata was approved to measure YouTube lift as part of a digital ad campaign using Google's Ads Data Hub. Dynata's cross-media studies — which include non-digital media channels, such as TV, radio, print and out-of-home — measure the media performance of panelists' exposure to digital ads alongside other ad types across multiple channels. For the first time, YouTube now can be included as a media channel in such studies. "Adding a premier channel, such as YouTube, into our cross-media advertising lift offerings further enhances our ability to help clients accurately and comprehensively measure advertising performance," said Dynata CEO Gary S. Laben.
