How Facebook’s Advertising Base Is Trending

The vast majority of Facebook’s (FB) revenue comes from advertiser spending to promote brands or market products and services on its platforms, which together reach more than 6.0 billion people globally. According to a Facebook update in October, some 6.0 million advertisers are active on its flagship platform. The company has previously said that its Instagram platform serves 2.0 million active advertisers, suggesting the company boasts more than 8.0 million advertisers in total across its various platforms, considering that its Messenger service also serves ads. But Facebook has been reporting 6.0 million active advertisers on its flagship platform for a long time. The metric hasn’t changed since April 2017, as the graph below shows.
