Article | March 11, 2020

Paid search remains a key digital advertising strategy for gaining customers, and Google is the dominant player in search engine marketing, but companies are now looking to diversify their search ad spend to lessen their dependence on the tech giant and achieve more cost-effective conversions. Google's share of the global search market is nearly 89%. The second largest is Yahoo, with 2.7%. How to Use Forced Bold Text in Google Search Ads

Article | March 11, 2020

This does not appear to be an officially supported feature, use at your own risk. To enable it, simply enter your text into AdTools.org and paste the output into your search ad. Keep in mind that each bold letter will now occupy 4-character spaces of traditional ad text. As you can see, it is pretty simple to enable, but what can it accomplish? I delivered a statistically significant amount of ads in direct A/B tests to determine this. In these tests, I ran identical copy, and landing pages against each other with bold text in one version, and not the other variation. I set ad rotation to distribute evenly and used manual CPC bidding without enabling Enhanced CPC bidding. This delivered an 11.3% overall increase in click-through rate and no measurable impact on conversion rate.

The Cybertruck Shows How Tesla Could Dominate the Auto Industry

Article | March 11, 2020

With a collective gasp and puzzled looks, the world was recently introduced to Tesla’s newest vehicle. The so-called Cybertruck is an angular, stainless steel, all-electric pickup truck that quickly became polarizing. The launch didn’t go very smoothly. The truck’s windows shattered when its lead designer smashed them with a metal ball, causing Tesla founder Elon Musk to curse under his breath. Regardless, pre-orders for the Cybertruck approached 250,000 within a week. Such an explosion of interest with no advertising, and an arguably disastrous grand opening event, is probably unprecedented. On a global scale, it’s clear that electric vehicles — known colloquially as EVs —have reached a new level of public acceptance. As of 2018, more than five million EVs were sold around the world. Canadians have been somewhat slower at adopting this technology, with all-electric vehicles representing 1.2 per cent of sales in 2018, or approximately 46,000 units. That said, Canadian sales of EVs grew 165 per cent year-over-year in 2018.
